Trumps travel ban blocked by Renee and Ilirijana
This morning, Trump's travel ban has been blocked by a Hawaiian Judge. This happened hours just before it was due to begin after midnight Thursday.
The aim of the ban was to prevent 'countries of concern' which include Iraq, Somalia, Syria and four other mainly Muslim countries from entering the US for 90 days. Trump also stated that refugees would also be banned for 120 days. This is due to the fact that Trump believed it would stop terrorism from entering the US.
The Judge, Watson, said that the ban would likely go ahead and would violate religious rights. The Hawaiian state argued that the ban would harm tourism and the ability to recruit foreign students and workers to come to the US.
In Maryland, they argued that it will illegally reduce the number of refugees being accepted for resettlement in the US and would create discrimination towards Muslims.
Trump has stated that he will take this to the Supreme Court and he will take the case "as far as it needs to go". This has said to be promoting discrimination and Islamophobia.
It has been released that California, New York and Washington are all taking part in legal actions against the ban.
