European Day of Languages – A Celebration

Posted on: 20/10/2017

The above celebration falls annually on 26 September.  It was proclaimed by the Council of Europe to celebrate the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe. At Hatch End High School, Last week, we celebrated the fantastic diversity of our own school.

Twenty-three students across various year groups volunteered to cook a typical dish of their home country after school.  Room 44 was buzzing and the final dishes were plated up with precision and flair.  We then all had the opportunity to taste the various dishes, which not only looked great, but tasted delicious.  The participating students received a “Cultural Ambassador” Award and certificate.  A huge thank you goes to Mrs Porter (Food technology Department), who shopped for and organised the vast array of ingredients and Mr Evans (DT Department), who produced the Award for us.

The table below shows details of the dishes.
