Fantastic summer term so far in the Art and Photography department!

Year 7s are busy creating their own insects as part of our Stylisation project. Some are currently creating collage insects and others are working as teams to create papier mâché insects of their own design.

Year 8s are working hard on their hybrid portraits and Year 9 are completing their David Nash inspired sculptures as the culmination of their nature in close-up project.

Students and staff alike enjoyed viewing the A-Level Art & Photography exhibition recently and we shared some of our fantastic Art Faculty’s work on the 5th July.

As Ms Dennis said, “I was overwhelmed by my recent visit to Hatch End High School’s Art & Photography Exhibition because I found the work so striking and interesting as soon as I entered the room. The display pieces were all pleasing to the eye and so detailed. Each one was very different, so you were kept captivated and absorbed by every piece and every sketch book. The immense skill and talent these students possess was profound and gave me a lot of pride to know I work in a school with such talent at the level I have seen here. Truly moved.”

Some of the A-Level work displayed at the Arts’ Festival, alongside performances from Music and Performing Arts on Wednesday, 5th July. Please remember to keep entering our Art competitions for the Look and Learn website. Don’t forget you can also design our new Excellence tokens for Co-operation, Ambition and Respect.
