Sensory Room News

Hatch End High School SEND Department were lucky enough to recently receive a grant from The Sheila Coates Foundation for new equipment for our Sensory Room.

The Sensory Room is a therapeutic space in the Cedar Room, where neurodiverse students can go to relax and/or self-regulate, so that they are ready to learn in the classroom environment.

Our new Sensory Room has some new lighting - including a fibre optic curtain which has been brought to life by Mr Foxe and the Design and Technology Department. We also have a new projector, jellyfish lamp, sound machine, infinity tunnel mirrors and much, much more!

Students must be supervised at all times when in the Sensory Room. If you think you would benefit from using the Sensory Room, please speak to the SENCo, Mrs Ellis.

A huge thank you to The Sheila Coates Foundation for making this possible for our students and to the Hatch End High School Finance Team, Premises Team and DT Department for helping with ordering and installing all the equipment!
