ASSEMBLIES are held weekly for each Year Group (9 -13).
At Key Stage 3, Years 7 and 8 have a joint assembly in week A and separate assemblies in week B. Most assemblies are held by the Heads of Year and Year Teams and Senior Leadership Team linked staff attend regularly to support our ethos. A variety of outside speakers attend to deliver assemblies where specialist knowledge is an advantage. These speakers have included Theatre in Education groups, local religious council leaders, Future First – a group who organise Hatch End High School Alumni and Health, Social Care and Public Services’ representatives. We do divert from set thematic plan for special occasions, festivals and in response to local, national and international events. Our staff calendar highlights all the key religious and cultural festivals.
The set of weekly quotes and values are used to support Assemblies, Tutor Period and Personal, Citizenship, Social, Health and Economic Education. We operate on a yearly plan in which we have broad subject areas relating to Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development, which interweave with Personal, Citizenship, Social, Health and Economic Education, Value of the Week, Assemblies and Tutor discussions where possible.
