Our Sixth Form curriculum offer is both broad and inclusive. It aims to provide students and parents with a wide choice of well recognised and respected course options which promote progression. By providing several pathways through Key Stage 5, we aim to cater for a wide variety of starting points and career aspirations.
Our Sixth Form curriculum offer thereby fully meets and supports the principles of the 16 to 19 study programmes insofar that it provides a structured and challenging individualised learning programme that promotes development and progression. All of our students take one or more academic or applied qualifications that stretch them and link clearly to future Higher Education and employment. Any student who does not already have at least a grade 4 in GCSE Maths or English Language is able to work towards these qualifications and meaningful work experience and enrichment enable the development of personal skills in preparation for Higher Education and employment.
In timetabling our Sixth Form subjects, we aim to satisfy the maximum possible number of student choices. If a course combination is not possible at Hatch End High School, we can usually offer it by accessing courses in other parts of the Harrow Sixth Form Collegiate. Whilst we aim to offer on site all of the courses below, some may have to be discontinued if there is insufficient demand or a staffing limitation.
In order to successfully apply to the most competitive universities and courses we recommend students build their love of their chosen subject by reading some of the titles in the section which relates to them.

Vocational Courses running now and planned for September
BTEC Nationals provide a broad, work-related introduction to a single vocational area. BTEC Nationals offer mainly assignment based assessment which benefits some students who may find it difficult to demonstrate their full range of skills in the examination room. BTEC Nationals at Hatch End High School are also supported by one day a week of work experience. These work experience placements can be found by students or parents; alternatively the school can secure an appropriate placement on behalf of the student.
BTEC Nationals are accepted by almost all universities for most of their courses and many Hatch End High School students who have studied BTEC Nationals in the past have progressed on to the most competitive Russell Group institutions.
