String Of Acolades For Hatch End High School

Dear Parents/Carers I am delighted to inform you that Hatch End High is in the limelight nationally for all the right reasons. We are consistently and significantly above the national overage for examination outcomes and I would like to stress just how much more we, as a school, go beyond this. For a full review of our results, please check the link on our website.  In June 2018, we were recognised by The Sutton Trust’s highly significant research paper called “Potential for Success – Fulfilling the promise of highly able students in secondary schools”. Essentially, Hatch End High has been viewed as a school where the most able students for the last three years have achieved outstanding educational results especially in the core subjects of Maths and English. The school was interviewed and its best practice has been used as a national case study. Just one month later, the school was invited to become a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for Inclusion across the country by the nationally renowned ‘Inclusion Quality Mark’ organisation. Achieving this award recognises the school’s long-standing and exceptional support for ALL students regardless of individual need. “Students come first at Hatch End High School and staff at all levels go to great lengths to help them to thrive in all areas of their lives.” – IQM 2018. The parents interviewed in relation to this award also said, “We felt like our child was the only child in the school, such was the care they were given.”  Finally, in September, the school has been published in the highly prestigious Parliamentary Review with mention for its high quality curriculum, which not only leads to high examination success but also empowers its young people with a vast range of choice at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Particularly noted was its creative delivery of all subjects, including science, technology and maths and our extensive enrichment programme. Hatch End High School has always prided itself on educating the whole child and preparing them to be successful in this ever-changing world. To have received national recognition three times in as many months makes our whole community very proud and reinforces what we are all about. Yours faithfully Ms Sue Maguire Headteacher
