Kailash Manor Dementia Friends Trip

Posted on: 22/01/2024

Kailash ManorOn Monday 22nd January, Year 7 students Harriet, Kayla, Liam and Olivia (who have recently completed their Dementia Friends Information Session), went to visit Kailash Manor Care Home in Harrow. They were supported by two students from Year 8: Khalil and Samuel, who completed their Dementia Friends Information Sessions last year and have already been to visit the Care Home before, so were on hand to offer tips and encouragement.

Upon arriving at Kailash Manor, we were invited for a tour of their Hindu Temple, where residents can go to pray and reflect. After this we set up some games and activities for the residents including Jenga, Dobble, Connect 4, and everyone's favourite - Hungry Hippos! Students played games with residents and got to know them and hear stories about their lives.

Some residents were accompanied by their relatives who took part and were really grateful that the students had taken time out of their day to visit.

Thank you so much to all the residents and staff at Kailash Manor for inviting us once again and well done Dementia Friends for brightening the day at Kailash Manor!
