Marlborough
A sample of our collaborative projects with Marlborough Primary School includes:
Science: Two Year 4 classes visited us and completed a science challenge using our bespoke science laboratories. One of our Chemistry specialists visited Marlborough and presented an interactive Science Show to the whole of Year 5 – demonstrating a range of experiments, aiming to introduce students to practical work and showing them how exciting it can be to us equipment and chemical to prove and disprove theories.
History: 60 Year 5 pupils took part in a unique creative arts project at our school and completed two workshops on ‘The Battle of Britain’ and ‘The First Trains in Britain’. Parents/carers were invited to watch part of the practical work the children completed during the day in our Great Hall, complete with lighting, sound and special effects.
Education: Our Sixth Form students volunteered as Teaching Assistants throughout the 2016/17 academic year.
Performance: Up to 60 Marlborough pupils attended the matinee performance of our annual school production.
Arts Days: We have also run a series of workshops through ARTS DAYS, relating the theme of the school production to literacy and numeracy and delivered workshops in a creative manner to boost interest, knowledge and self-confidence.
“We enjoyed the afternoon visit immensely; the children were so thrilled to visit and enjoyed the learning experiences provided. The staff were fantastic and really made it a memorable experience - so thank you!” Marlborough Primary School.
