Mrs Marianne Jeanes
Headteacher
It is a great pleasure to be the Headteacher of Hatch End High School. I have been teaching in London schools for over 25 years and am passionate about teaching, about Science and the Arts, about leadership, coaching and my faith. Having studied Chemistry at Oxford, I completed my PGCE at Bristol, training to teach both Science and PE including dance. Throughout my career I have taught a wide range of Science, PE and dance courses but now focus on teaching mainly A-level Chemistry which I love.
I started my career at Queen’s Park Community School in Brent; spent 13 years at Nower Hill High School and most recently have been the Principal at Capital City Academy in Willesden. I love the challenges, variety and rewards of teaching in London schools and I am so pleased to be back serving my local community as Headteacher at Hatch End.
Ms Hiri Arunagiri
Deputy Headteacher: Pastoral and Community
I am delighted to be joining Hatch End High School as Deputy Headteacher. Having grown up in Harrow and continued to live in the borough, I am particularly excited to be working in a school at the heart of the local community. I have been teaching for 15 years, beginning my career shortly after completing a degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Southampton. Throughout my career, I have held a range of leadership roles, including Head of Science, Lead Practitioner for Pastoral, Safeguarding, Behaviour and Attendance, and most recently Assistant Headteacher for Personal Development and Equalities in an inner-London school in Camden. My leadership experience has given me the opportunity to lead a wide range of projects across different aspects of school life, from developing and improving curriculum design and teaching and learning, to promoting youth safety, strengthening inclusion and tackling the disproportionate exclusion of Global Majority students across London. I am passionate about creating schools where every young person feels safe, valued, included and empowered to succeed. I am looking forward to continuing my career at Hatch End High School and working alongside students, staff, families and the wider community. I share the school’s commitment to high-quality learning and to ensuring that every student is supported to discover and follow their own path to success. I am excited to contribute to an inclusive school ethos where there are high aspirations, ambition and opportunity for all.
Miss Rebecca Cleary
Deputy Headteacher: Curriculum and Assessment
Having completed a BSc in Geography at Queen Mary’s University and remembering the impact my own teachers had on both my academic and personal development, I decided to embark on a career in teaching. I was fortunate to be placed at Hatch End High School as part of my PGCE with the Institute of Education in 2010 and over the years have held many different roles and responsibilities as part of our school community. These roles have included; Head of Geography, Head of the Humanities Faculty, Teacher Governor and Induction Tutor and Assistant Headteacher. Currently as Deputy Headteacher- Curriculum and Assessment I am privileged to work with our dedicated staff to ensure teaching and learning is underpinned by effective researched informed practice. It is my belief that through an ambitious, diverse and inclusive curriculum offer we can ensure our students are inspired, motivated and empowered with the knowledge and skills to embark successfully upon their next stage in their learning journey, be it higher education or the world of work.
Ms Rebecca Cozens
Deputy Headteacher: Inclusion and Provision
I started working at Hatch End High School over twenty years ago as a Geography teacher. I have taken on a number of roles within the school including Head of the Lower School and SENCO and am now very proud to be Deputy Headteacher - Inclusion and Provision. I am responsible for ensuring that students who have educational or emotional special needs receive the very best support. I am the registered Designated Safeguarding Lead. Keeping our young people safe and happy in and outside school is, I believe, absolutely key to outstanding learning and growing up to be active citizens in the world. I am also a Governor at the Jubilee Academy in Harrow, an alternative free school set up by the Harrow Academies in which Hatch End High School plays a key role.
Mr Antony Fernandopulle
Assistant Headteacher: Sixth Form / Key Stage 5
I joined Hatch End in 2016 as a Head of Year in the Sixth Form after working at another local school and now it is a pleasure and privilege to be the Head of Sixth Form. I completed a degree in Biomedical Science at King’s College London before completing a PGCE at the Institute of Education. Having worked with five cohorts of Sixth Form students at Hatch End, I have really enjoyed helping students navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with studying in a Sixth Form. I strongly believe in the transformative power of education and that when students are at their most confident, they can overcome the barriers they face to achieve their goals. I am motivated to help ensure our students leave us with the skills, knowledge and confidence for their next steps of their education and career.
Mr Stefan Boudreau
Assistant Headteacher: Key Stage 3
I began teaching in the UK in 2013 as a History teacher and was fortunate to be given opportunities to take on leadership responsibilities early in my career. I went on to spend six years as Head of History before becoming Head of Humanities and, more recently, an Assistant Headteacher. During this time, I have had the opportunity to lead across a wide range of areas including curriculum, character and personal development, behaviour, attendance and whole-school improvement. Looking back on my own experience of school, I recognise how important the opportunities, experiences and relationships we encounter during those formative years can be in shaping the person we become. This has influenced the way I have approached education throughout my career. While academic success is incredibly important, I believe schools also have a responsibility to help young people develop confidence, resilience and a belief in what they are capable of achieving. High expectations, positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging can give students the confidence to take opportunities, overcome challenges and leave school prepared for whatever comes next. One of the things I have learnt throughout my career is just how important the culture of a school is. I believe young people thrive when expectations are high, relationships are strong and there is consistency in the way they are supported and challenged. For me, the small things matter: students feeling known, their successes being recognised, adults taking an interest when things are not going well and everyone having a shared belief that they can improve. I believe this combination of high expectations and genuine care can have an enormous impact on a young person’s experience of school. I am very much looking forward to working alongside the students, staff, families and wider community at Hatch End High School and contributing to the continued development and success of the school.
Mr David Robinson
Assistant Headteacher: Key Stage 4
I started my teaching career at Hatch End High School as a newly qualified teacher in 2008, teaching Psychology at Key Stage 5 as well as Religion and Ethics at Key Stages 3 and 4. During this time I have been offered countless opportunities to engage in my own professional development and work on a variety of different projects and initiatives to raise student outcomes. These include: overseeing the Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education /Citizenship Programme in the Sixth Form, followed by successfully securing the role of Head of Citizenship in 2010 a subject which is key at Hatch End High School and has national recognition for its fantastic practice. In 2012 I was promoted to the Head of Faculty for Social Sciences as well as having whole school responsibility for ‘Student Voice’. Working closely with other experienced middle leaders and leading a larger team has exposed me to invaluable experience. Since September 2015, I have been working as an Assistant Headteacher. I spent the first three years on the SLT with responsibility for raising standards and interventions. Since September 2018, I have taken on the role of Head of Key Stage 4, where I have responsibility for the pastoral and academic progress of students in Year 9, 10 and 11. I am fully aligned with the school’s inclusive values and am glad to be part of the excellent staff body serving Hatch End High School.
Miss Emma Camplejohn
Assistant Headteacher: Teaching & Learning, ITT
I started working at Hatch End High School in September 2022 at Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning, after being Lead Practitioner for a school in East London. I completed my PGCE in Secondary Geography Education in 2009 and have worked at three contrasting London schools in various different roles first as Geography Teacher, then Head of Geography and most recently as Lead Practitioner with a whole school teaching and learning focus. I enjoy understanding how learning happens and recognising the importance of pedagogy in making learning accessible to students. I believe that education plays a fundamental role in improving the life chances of our students and in supporting them to become the best they can be.
Mr Adam Hilsenrath
Assistant Headteacher: Timetabling, and ICT
Having graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in History, I felt inspired by the love of learning that my school teachers had instilled in me and pursued a career in education. I completed my PGDE in Secondary Mathematics Education with the Institute of Education through Teach First and have since taught Maths, Further Maths, History and even some Politics. Across my career I have held a range of roles in both pastoral and academic areas of school life, and was delighted to join Hatch End High School in January 2024 as Assistant Headteacher focusing on timetabling and IT provision. I am constantly motivated both by the joy and enthusiasm that learning can bring and the enormous positive impact that education can have on the lifelong outcomes of all pupils.
Mrs Misha Beccan
Associate Assistant Headteacher: Raising Aspirations
After leaving Hatch End High School as a student, I ventured into the catering industry before pursuing my love for creative design, earning a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from the University of Hertfordshire. I have always had a deep-seated interest in working with young people. I completed my PGCE at the University of Greenwich, leading to a fulfilling teaching position back at Hatch End. Over the years, I have held various roles, including Head of Food Preparation and Nutrition, Head of Health and Social Care, and Head of Year, while also serving as a Professional Mentor for Early career teachers and supporting with initial teacher training for a short time. A secondment to a senior leadership role allowed me to spearhead initiatives, the Dream Forward Programme and Hatch End Extend, alongside supporting senior colleagues in developing the whole-school rewards. Securing a role as an Assistant Headteacher is a source of immense pride, especially as the very first permanent black member of the Senior Leadership team following in the footsteps of Yvonne who is a true inspiration. My passion and dedication to holistic development fully align with the schools overall vision and core values in nurturing our students to excel academically and progress as individuals throughout their school journey and beyond.

Miss Megan Kennedy
Associate Assistant Headteacher
From a young age, I was determined to become a teacher, a passion that has inspired and influenced every step of my journey in education. After graduating in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Portsmouth, I went on to complete my PGCE in Secondary Physical Education at St Mary’s University. Since then, I have been proud to build my teaching career in an inner London state school, where I have had the privilege of supporting and inspiring young people from diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. I am passionate about supporting students both academically and personally, ensuring they are equipped with the confidence, skills, and knowledge to achieve their potential and thrive beyond school. I believe in the power of education to transform lives and am dedicated to inspiring and empowering our students every step of the way. I am excited to be joining Hatch End High School, and I look forward to working closely with staff, students, and families to continue delivering high-quality education and pastoral care.
Mrs Sarah Ellis
Associate Assistant Headteacher: SENCo
I’ve only ever wanted to be a teacher – schools and education are incredibly important to me. I graduated from Kingston University in 2001 with a BA(Hons) in Primary Education with QTS and began my teaching career in Harrow. I always had an interest in Special Educational Needs, so in 2006 I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Deaf Education at the University of Hertfordshire and BSL level 2 to become a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf. I taught in primary and secondary school additionally resourced provisions for deaf pupils and also as an advisory teacher for Brent Council working with deaf young people and families. I joined Hatch End High School in 2018 as the Head of the Hearing Impaired Provision. From here I completed my SENCO qualification at UCL and began leading the SEND Department too. I also qualified as an Exam Access Arrangements Assessor. I am proud to be joining the SLT at Hatch End High School and am committed to developing SEND provision and ensuring that young people with additional needs are supported to feel included and reach their full potential.
Mrs Alison Hayward
Associate Staff Lead
After graduating from the University of Lincoln, where I studied Criminology and Social Policy, I began my career working for a charity recruiting and training volunteers to teach basic literacy skills to offenders on probation. This inspired a love of teaching and I went on to complete a City and Guilds course in teaching basic literacy. However, my passion had always been to join the Police Service, so in 2004 I joined the Metropolitan Police and spent 12 years working as both a Police Constable on patrol in Southall before taking my detective exams to become a Detective Constable where I worked in the Community Safety and Protection of Vulnerable Adults Units in Acton. After 12 years I was keen to return to education and joined Hatch End High School as a Year Team Assistant in 6th Form. I really enjoyed my role and looked to progress in my career. I secured a new role in a Senior Leadership Team at a Primary School, leading on pastoral care. However, I missed both Hatch End and working with 6th Form students so returned to Hatch End as an Assistant Head of Year 12 & 13 and also took on other responsibilities including Mental Health Lead across the whole school and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. I am thrilled to now join the Senior Leadership Team at Hatch End and lead the Associate Staff body, supporting across the whole school with wellbeing and professional development.
