I finished my A-Levels 3 years ago and went on to study Finance and Economics at the University of Hertfordshire. During my time at university I undertook a summer internship opportunity which I found to be a key to passing through job applications. Participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award allowed me to pick up new skills and further my team work abilities which I found to be a useful area to talk about in interviews and gave me lots of confidence. It is not always about studying and getting good grades. Experience outside academia counts at all times. This is evident from my personal experience of a summer internship and extra-curricular activities enabling me to secure a position at PwC this year. I would advise students to learn how to invest their time wisely as it reflects in your work and personal life. Always aim to become an all rounded individual as education solely does not always suffice.
