Hatch End 6th Form is a large and successful 6th Form with A-level results in the top 10% schools for progress year on year. Applied General results are also strong with top 25% progress and we offer BTECs and the new AAQs. The current Head of 6th Form is retiring after 20 years and his legacy is a very well established and effective 6th Form which provides excellent pastoral care, delivers academic excellence and is inclusive. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and highly effective leader to join a dynamic, experienced and collaborative leadership team who work tirelessly to improve the outcomes and life chances of our young people. The successful candidate will lead the 6th Form and Careers Teams consisting of Heads of Y12 & 13, Assistant Head of Year, 6th Form administrator, Careers Advisor & Careers Co-ordinator. Line management of a department and others will form an essential part of this role.
The successful applicant will:
- be an outstanding classroom teacher with a proven and demonstrable track record of success at A Level or other Level 3;
- have sustained and substantial middle leadership experience within teaching and learning or preferably some senior leadership experience;
- have a good understanding of current educational developments and educational data relating to the 6th Form;
- have the highest expectations of students;
- have energy, stamina and a sense of humour.
