Image (13)Last week, Hatch End High School Year 8 students were visited by the Police Territorial Support Group, who delivered a workshop to inform pupils about their role and what their job fully entails.

HEHS Year 8 student Daria, tells us all about the day:

"During the workshop, the Police Territorial Support Group showed students some of their equipment such as hazmat suits, armoured suits and shields. We were shown a long shield and the best way to hold it, as well as the circular shield which you have to put your arm through a hook at the back to hold securely.

The Police also spoke about keeping safe, Social Media, Radicalisation and how important it is not to share your personal details or information online.

The officers also gave many examples of the ways they protect themselves and the public during riots and how dangerous their job can be at times.

This has made me think about my future and whether going into the Police force could be something I could consider."

Thank you to the Police Territorial Support Group for such an informative workshop for our Year 8 students and well done to all of our students for taking part.
