We dropped off all the wonderful cards and letters created by Year 7 students as part of their Dementia Friendly Action and took part in a Spring Themed Activity with the residents. We made some Rabbit Vases that we decorated and filled with daffodils for the residents’ rooms as we got to know about their lives.

One resident shared that he loved talking to the students as they ‘cared about who I was and about my life’ and another resident said the activities made her ‘feel like a child again - the best time of life’. At the end of the event, we had some thank-you speeches from the residents, who asked the students what they had gained from their morning. Year 7 students agreed that they had 'helped others and made friends.’

Residents at Kailash Manor kindly gifted the students with some chocolates to thank them for their visit and a resident gave us some inspirational words: ‘Whatever you want in life: aim for it and go for it!’

Thank you to the residents and staff at Kailash Manor for such a warm welcome! Well done to our Year 7 Dementia Friends for such an incredible ‘Dementia Friendly Action’.
