AiR Artivism Workshop

IMG 2658Throughout this half-term, a number of our Year 9 students had the opportunity to take part in an Art Workshop, organised by Joseph from the Artists in Residence charity (AiR) and working with the artist Sarah Pimenta from Social Fabric.

In the first part of the workshop, students learnt about ‘artivism’ and the power of Art, as well as being given the opportunity to use new media, processes and techniques, such as screen-printing.

In the second part of the workshop, Joseph from AiR led an informative and thought-provoking workshop on ‘Artivism’ and asked the Year 9 students taking part: What would the world be like without Art?

Our students produced a wonderful array of placards. At the same time, students completed their interviews with Toby Bull and their wonderful banner with artist Sarah Pimenta, reinforcing the ‘Artivism’ theme and depicting our school values of we CARE

Students at Hatch End, look out for this banner on display on a wall near you soon!

A huge thank you to AiR, Joseph, Sarah and Tony for this fantastic opportunity and we look forward to working with you again in the future.
