Year 10 Mock Interview Day

Posted on: 28/03/2023

P4s3On Tuesday 28th March, Hatch End High School Year 10 students took part in 'Preparing for Success Day'. All students participated in a Body Language and Interview Skill Workshop with Darwin Bernardo and Leonita Metaj, who both work for the Mayor of London.

Leonita attended Hatch End High School and it was at a Hatch End High School event that Leonita was selected to participate in a programme with Team London. From there, Leonita has gone on to become a key part of the Young People's Action Group (YPAG), working directly with Sadiq Khan. Leonita spoke to the students about the importance of embracing the opportunities presented to them.

After their workshop, all students then participated in a mock interview with an employer from a wide range of institutions. Students were asked a range of questions and given feedback on both their interview technique and their CV.

Our students did extremely well, receiving so much positive feedback. One Year 10 student said: ‘I learnt how to answer questions confidently and professionally’, whilst one of our external interviewers said: ‘I just wanted to thank you and your team for giving me the opportunity to support your Year 10 pupils with the Mock Interviews yesterday. I came away feeling inspired by them and their aspirations.’

Many thanks to all of our external organisations that took part: Transport for London, West Herts College, Royal Holloway University of London, Gilead Sciences, Atkins Global, Whitmore High School, Clarion Housing Group, Stray Cat Communications, Amazing Apprenticeships, Education Development Trust, Synergy Fostering Ltd, Magnet Ltd and Delaware.
