Year 11 Boys Basketball Triumph in Harrow Borough Quarter-Final
The Year 11 Boys Basketball team delivered a determined and disciplined performance in their Harrow Borough Quarter-Final clash against Canons High School, securing a wellâearned 42–34 victory. It was a hardâfought battle from start to finish, with momentum swinging across all four quarters, but our squad showed resilience, teamwork, and composure under pressure.
A Game of Grit and Discipline
The boys opened with a dominant first quarter, taking a strong 18–7 lead thanks to fast breaks, sharp shooting, and excellent defensive pressure. Canons responded well in the second quarter, tightening their defence and outscoring us 12–8, but our players held on to maintain a solid advantage going into halftime.
The third quarter continued in similar fashion, with both sides trading baskets in a closely contested stretch. Canons edged it 8–7, closing the gap and setting up a tense final period. However, our boys showed tremendous maturity and focus in the fourth quarter, pulling away with a decisive 10–6 performance to seal the 42–34 overall win.
Team Effort – Individual Impact
The victory was truly a team effort, with standout contributions across the court. Meti led the scoring with an impressive offensive display, while Jacob, Subhan, Amal, Harry, Abdul, David, Shain, and Jawad all played crucial roles at both ends of the floor. Their energy, communication, and determination ensured the team stayed ahead during key moments of the game.
Special Recognition
A big shoutâout goes to Kacper in Year 9, who volunteered his time to run the scoreboard throughout the game. His accuracy and focus helped the match run smoothly — thank you, Kacper!
