HEHS Students Experience the Thrill of STEM at Williams Racing Centre
Posted on: 24/04/2025On the 24th of April, the Pastoral team took 40 of our students on a coach trip to the Williams Racing Centre in Oxford for an action-packed day of STEM learning, all with a motorsport twist. The students had the chance to try out Esports race simulators, where they raced on real Formula One tracks from around the world and had a blast being competitive with one another! They also explored the wide range of careers available in Formula 1, from engineering and design to materials science. The day was filled with fun, hands-on activities, including experiments with aerodynamics and learning about the science behind crash tests, all linked to the National Curriculum. A real highlight was the tour of the Williams Heritage Collection, where students not only saw over 50 iconic race cars but also had the chance to hold pieces of real Formula One cars.
Throughout the day, the students had plenty of opportunities to bond with one another and with staff, creating lasting memories and strengthening connections. Everyone had an amazing time, and to top it all off, the students were given goody bags to take home, which they absolutely loved! A big thank you to the Williams Racing Centre for making this such a memorable experience for our students.
