Historic First Match on New Home Pitch for Hatch End Year 8 Boys
Posted on: 30/09/2025Tuesday 30th September marked a milestone for Hatch End High School as the Year 8 boys’ football team played their first ever match on the school’s brand-new home pitch. Facing local rivals Nower Hill, the game was a tough but spirited contest as the team adjusted to the demands of 11-a-side football.
Despite a valiant effort, Hatch End fell short on this occasion, with the final score reflecting the challenges of a first competitive outing. However, the boys showed great determination and teamwork throughout the match.
A special mention goes to Trevonte, who stepped up to go in goal after an unfortunate injury to our goalkeeper Sabin just before half-time. Trevonte’s courage and adaptability were commendable, helping to keep the team in the game during a difficult second half.
The full squad for the match included:
Sabin, Viren, Hamza, Caimron, Yousuf, Erhan, Modasir, George, Dylan, Kymani, Joey, Ali, Trevonte, Fareece, Zac, and Yug.
While the result wasn’t in our favour, the match was a valuable learning experience and a proud moment for the school. The team will no doubt grow stronger as the season progresses, and we look forward to seeing their development on home turf.
Well done to all involved – the future looks bright for Hatch End football!
