Jack Petchey Speak Out Final

DSC 0027On Tuesday 4th July, Hatch End High School witnessed the nail-biting final of the Year 10 Jack Petchey "Speak Out" Competition.

Eight Year 10 students were all individually selected as winners via the external course providers in each of their own workshops held at the start of this term.

Students had just 90 seconds each to deliver a powerful, updated version of the final speeches they each used in the group workshops in front of a full audience in the Great Hall - not an easy task at all!

Our guest judges, Ms Maguire, Ms Dunford and Ms Baden-Semper, judged each speech using the same scoring criteria used in the workshop groups, which is based on content, delivery and structure of the speech.

A huge congratulations to Hari (Year 10), who was awarded as this year's first place winner! Many congratulations also to Jamie (Year 10) and Caleb (Year 10), who were awarded second and third place respectively.

Well done to all of our students that took part in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Competition, we are all extremely proud of you!

Mr Williams, Head of Year 10
