Celebrating Success: Year 11 Graduation

Posted on: 27/06/2025

Friday 27th June was a special day for Year 11 students. They began the day with a Graduation Ceremony attended by students, parents, and carers, where all students were awarded Graduation Certificates with speeches in between.

Mrs Jeanes opened the morning by giving an inspirational and farewell speech to students followed by speeches by Mr Chimonas, Head of Year 11 and Mr Robinson, Assistant Headteacher.

There was also a Keynote speech given by Mr Dasos Kirtsides, Head of Healthcare Finance, Shawbrook Bank. He spoke about how he came from an ordinary state school background and didn’t go to university. His position at Shawbrook Bank is totally through hard work, gradually gaining experience and deciding to study at evening classes. Success is possible to achieve, but you must work for it. Don’t make excuses, it can be done!

During the ceremony we were treated to a musical interlude by Summer R-D and Evelyn P, Year 10 students, a talk by Jessica M F about her time at Hatch End High School and a poem read by Viraj P, both Year 11 Deputy Student Ambassadors.

Afterwards parents were able to relax, have refreshments and have their photos taken with their children.
