Year 7 London Zoo Trip
Posted on: 19/09/2025All of Year 7 had the wonderful opportunity to travel to London Zoo as a Year group on Friday 19th September with their tutor and Year Team. This is the third year we have operated this trip, and we are very grateful to the Jack Petchey Foundation for helping to fund this trip so that it is free of charge for all.
The tip offers our new Year 7 students the opportunity to spend some together with their tutor and have some bonding time in a more informal setting. It a great opportunity to get into London and show them the benefits of learning outside the classroom.
All of the students travelled by overground and underground train – walking through Regent’s Park to get to the zoo where they spent time looking at how the zoo markets itself to young people and if this is effective. Secondly, they investigated how the zoo manages litter. The students will explore how well they did this and hope to learn how we can manage litter more successfully as a school as this is focus alongside improving recycling in the school as a whole.
