Year 8 Trip Tower of London

Posted on: 18/09/2025

We were invited via the Teacher Palace Network to pilot a castle building workshop which we loved!  Year 8 enjoyed the magnificent sights of the UNESCO World Heritage site and marveled at the poppy installations to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of WW2.  There is always so much to see and do at this unique Tower that celebrates a millennium worth of History.

On the 18 September we went to the Tower of London, and the best parts of it were when we visited the Crown Jewels where we saw the crowns throughout history plus, we saw the real crown jewels.

The next thing we did was follow a guide who explained to us about how the castle was built and things related to that. After that we went inside the White Tower; the shocking part was that the castle was bigger on the outside than the inside.

The last thing that we did was build a cardboard castle using shoe boxes it was really fun, and we enjoyed it a lot.
