Oxford Trip Year 9
Posted on: 05/12/2025On the 5th of December, Inspire Scholars went to Oxford University and visited St. Johns College, which runs the Inspire program. After a long coach drive to Oxford, we arrived and were welcomed nicely as well as taken to a room, where we put our stuff and had refreshments. Then, we discussed different topics, relating to university, like the benefits of staying at home instead of moving to another place for university. Overall, it was very interesting, and we had lots of good debates. Following that, we had an early lunch, which was provided by Oxford, and was mouth-watering. Subsequently, we were toured around the college by two students, seeing massive accommodations as well as beautiful gardens and libraries. Additionally, we had a Q&A with them, asking many different questions, such as what university life is like. Finally, we visited the Natural History Museum, a majestic building filled to the brim with historic artifacts like dinosaur fossils and even some cool materials like fool’s gold and quartz. We were allowed to touch many things like an Asian elephant tooth, which was considerably heavy. We then collected our things and left St. Johns College with a much better understanding of university and was incredibly memorable. This visit was very insightful to us and will encourage us to work even harder and thrive so that we could also study at this outstanding university.
