Scholarship Stars Enjoy Magical Reward at Harry Potter Studios
Posted on: 25/06/2025On Wednesday 25th June, Mrs Jeanes and Mrs Beccan were very proud to accompany our Year 7 & 8 Scholarship challenge winners to the Warner Brother Studios for the Making of Harry Potter Tour. All the students on the trip had completed 8 weeks of independent study for at least 2 hours a night, recorded their work diligently and also read a number of our scholarship books. The students were fantastic representatives of Hatch End High School and you can read all about their day below.

Our trip to the 'Warner Bros. Studio' was truly magical. I got to explore with my peers how the films of Harry Potter were created and how the characters were developed. All the exhibitions were fascinating and had magnificent items and sets that showed how complicated the films were to make but also how talented the crew of Harry Potter was.
Each section included features from different scenes throughout the 7/8 movies and introduced us to a new world of how the directors and the designer's ideas came to life. All the staff were extremely lovely and helpful, ready to assist you in any way possible which reassured many of us.
Throughout the tour, there were many stimulations such as the Hogwarts express where we were allowed to get on the train and experience how Harry, Hermione, and Ron felt as they travelled to Hogwarts wizarding school of magic.
This trip was an amazing reward for our hard work on the scholarship challenge, and I think that Mrs Jeanes couldn't have picked a better place.
Overall, the trip was a fantastic experience and was extremely educating on the making of Harry Potter. I will definitely come again if I have the opportunity.

The trip to Harry Potter world was astonishing to say the least. The building was ginormous, and the sets were so realistic they made me feel like I was actually in the movies. The green screen was a unique and enjoyable activity, however my favourite part was the performance by the Beaxbatons academy and Durmstrang students form the tri-wizard cup; the dancing, lights, music and fire were truly mesmerizing. We then travelled through the forbidden forest which was spine chilling. There we’re huge tarantulas everywhere hidden by the fog. It was also great to see the iconic platform 9 and ¾ with the infamous red Hogwarts Express. It was fascinating to see how the sets and characters were made. And the model of Hogwarts was probably my 2nd favourite part of the trip as it was extremely large but the attention to detail was incredible. I must say this was my favourite trip in Hatch End and this just shows that hard work pays off... thank you Ms Jeanes and Ms Beccan for making this possible.
