Year 7 Trip to the National Archives
Posted on: 30/06/2025The National Archives in Kew is like a treasure chest full of all the evidence that is important to the UK. It helps us know what really happened in the past and allows us to make new discoveries for ourselves.
HEHS won a bid to cover the entire cost of our day out to the National Archives to handle real Tudor artefacts and draw our own conclusions about the past. In June two cohorts of Year 7 were treated to this Tudor discovery day which was a great success.
Anuki writes “I had so much fun at the National Archives. We examined real sources from the Tudor times when King Henry VIII ruled over England. One of my favourite sources was the book about the Reformation was. This trip was an amazing experience, giving us all to see real sources that were protected with care by all the staff that work in the National Archives.“
Kymani writes “The trip was so fun and very interesting, I really enjoyed the workshop and was fascinated by the amazing historical sources of the National Archives and the different types of sources they had there.
Thank you to all the teachers that let me experience the National Archives as it was such an amazing and fascinating place and I had such a great time."
