Year 12 Geography Urban Ramble

Posted on: 08/01/2026

On 8th January, Year 12 Geography students took part in an Urban Ramble, covering nearly 20,000 steps as they explored key locations across East London. The visit included the Museum of London Docklands, Stratford- Westfield, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and Hackney Wick.

The fieldwork focused on investigating urban change and regeneration, examining how the area has developed from the 1700s to the present day. Students analysed land-use change, regeneration strategies, and the social and economic impacts of redevelopment, using real-world examples directly linked to their Geography specification.

The data, observations, and case study material collected during the day will now be used to support examination preparation and strengthen students’ understanding of urban processes.

Throughout the trip, students were impeccably behaved and were a real credit to the school.
